The Paint Recycling Company is just one of the many businesses that benefit from RRFB Nova Scotia’s internationally renowned recycling programs and funding for new ideas. RRFB Nova Scotia helps entrepreneurs convert waste resources into business opportunities that protect our environment – and build our economy. If you’ve got a great idea – don’t let it go to waste.
Nova Scotians can take their unused paint to any ENVIRO-DEPOT™ for free – and buy quality recycled Boomerang paint at local hardware stores for about half the cost of other paints – thanks to RRFB Nova Scotia's Paint Recycling Program and start-up funding for the three-year-old paint recycling plant in Springhill.
The Paint Recycling Company turns 700,000 litres of leftover paint into 150,000 colourful new gallons each year and sends it to markets worldwide. The operation has created 15 jobs and provides paint recycling advice to municipalities throughout North America – in addition to keeping Nova Scotia clean and green.
Owner Pierre Landry lauds RRFB Nova Scotia's technical and moral support, as well as its business development programs. "I would have to say that Nova Scotia has the best stewardship program by far in Canada," says Pierre about RRFB Nova Scotia's devotion to resource management. "Without the RRFB I don't think we'd be where we are today. I'm certain of that."
