Community Educators

Interested in having a guest speaker talk to your class or community group about reducing, reusing, recycling or composting? Enter Nova Scotia’s Waste Reduction Educators!

Each region in the province has Community Educators who work in partnership with RRFB Nova Scotia to promote awareness about waste reduction. These educators are employees of municipalities or regional waste management authorities. They are enthusiastic, energetic experts who love sharing their knowledge about the 3R’s and composting. Some of the services they provide to their communities include:

  • School presentations
  • Presentations with Moby the Recycling Robot
  • Activities to celebrate Waste Reduction Week, Earth Day, Environment Week
  • School/ office “greening” assistance
  • Visits to community groups (e.g. Scouts, Guides)
  • Information and training workshops for businesses
  • Compost information sessions
  • Booths at expos, home shows, and other special events
